Man Shot in Head with BB Gun

The victim was living with the assailant's former girlfriend, police said.

A 23-year-old man walking from Dunning Mills Inn Dec. 14 to the nearby Sunoco station at 2307 Jefferson Davis Hwy. was approached by another man who shot him in the head with a BB gun.

"The victim was struck three times in the face and head with BB shot and required treatment for his injuries at Mary Washington Hospital," said Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police Department public information officer.

"The victim and the offender knew each other because the victim was living at Dunning Mills Inn with the assailant’s former girlfriend."

On December 18, detectives served a search warrant at the home of the offender. Christopher Williams, 22, of Fredericksburg, was arrested for aggravated malicious wounding and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

On December 17, the victim in this case was arrested for felony child abuse in a separate investigation.
