Man Tied Up, Assaulted in Apartment

The City of Fredericksburg Police Department provided this information. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

ASSAULT:
600 block Greenbrier Ct, 4/28 12:30 a.m. – 1:15 a.m.  A 21-year-old resident reported that he was tied up and assaulted by a male subject inside his apartment. The victim also reported that the subject stole his cell phone.

The victim required transport by ambulance to the hospital for multiple injuries on his head, but he was able to provide a description and the identity of the
suspect.

A short time later, an officer saw a subject matching the description near the intersection of College Avenue and William Street. When he spotted the officer, the subject climbed over the perimeter fence and ran onto the campus of the University of Mary Washington. A patrol K-9 from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with tracking the suspect, but he was not located.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. deputies with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at the Econo Lodge on Jefferson Davis Highway and located the suspect.

Dajuan Chambers, 24, of no fixed address was arrested for malicious wounding, abduction, and robbery for the incident at Greenbrier Apartments and he was also arrested on charges from Spotsylvania County.

Chambers was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

Palm Beach Tan, 1410 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 4/30 5:25 p.m. A customer reported that two items of jewelry were stolen after she accidentally left them inside a booth. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

500 block Weedon St, 5/1 7:20 p.m. A resident reported that a lawn chair was stolen from his yard. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Giant, 1245 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 5/1 12:00 p.m. A manager reported that a male subject stole a bag of groceries and ran from the store after being confronted. The investigation is ongoing.

DUI ARRESTS:
Victoria Keck, 24, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 1200 block of Central Park Boulevard.

ARRESTS:
Wayne Payne, 50, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and possession of alcohol after being interdicted.

Martha Palacino, 57, of Fredericksburg was arrested for prescription fraud.

Karen Fletcher, 33, of Spotsylvania was arrested for two counts of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Antoine Gardner, 38, of Fredericksburg was arrested for violation of a protective order.
Virginia Goodman, 33, of Richmond was arrested for misdemeanor bad check.

Michael Butler, 38, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication and domestic assault and battery.

Obdulio Alcantara, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of marijuana.
