Police: Burglar Cuts Hole Into Safe in Department Store

Burglaries and larcenies at area businesses reported by the Fredericksburg Police Department.

Burglars at one Fredericksburg area department store apparently had lots of time on their hands during a weekend heist, according to information from the Fredericksburg Police Department.

At 7 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to an overnight burglary at the A.C. Moore at 1833 Carl D Silver Pkwy. 

Sometime overnight, unknown individuals had entered the store and cut a hole into the safe. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

Other recent burglaries and larcenies at area businesses, as reported by the Fredericksburg Police Department:

Liberty Mutual Insurance, 1340 Central Park Blvd, 5/23 – 5/24 6:20 p.m. Police responded for an alarm activation and found that an unknown person had gained access to the business by damaging the front door lock mechanism. Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the business. The investigation is ongoing.  
 
Batteries Plus, 1918 Plank Rd, 5/24 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Two employees reported that they had items of value stolen from the office while they were working. The investigation is ongoing.

IHOP, 2831 Plank Rd, 5/24 2:30 a.m. A manager reported that an unknown person stole a quantity of cash from the safe while the business was open. The investigation is ongoing
