Police: Cashier Shot Twice in the Head

Victim's condition is very serious, Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office release image of suspect.

An unknown suspect shot a gas station attendant in the head early Saturday morning. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office has released an image of the suspect in hopes someone can identify him.

At approximately 3 a.m., the unknown man walked into the Fas Mart Store, 11600 Brock Road.

"The suspect pretended to purchase an item and waited for the store clerk to turn away," according to a Sheriff's Office release. "The suspect then drew an unknown type handgun and shot the clerk, two times in the head, leaving her lying on the floor as he left."

The suspect got away with an undetermined amount of cash and merchandise. He is described as as a white, male, with a black goatee. He's 25 to 35 years of age, 5’4” to 5’7”, weighing 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark hoodie sweat shirt and jeans. He was armed with an unknown caliber handgun.

The victim, a 32-year-old woman, was transported to Mary Washington Hospital and airlifted to the MCV Trauma Center. She is listed in very serious condition.
