Man transported to hospital after crash, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

An attempted traffic stop late Sunday ended with a wreck and the suspect transported to Mary Washington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

Tommy George, 53, of Ruther Glen was arrested for DUI, possession of stolen property, felony eluding, driving on a revoked license and reckless driving in Fredericksburg. He also faces charges of tampering with a vehicle and grand larceny in Stafford County.

At 10 p.m., an officer spotted a maroon Toyota reportedly driven by George speeding down Princess Anne Street without the headlights on. The officer pulled the car over near the Hardee's on Princess Anne, but the driver sped off when the officer approached the car.

The Toyota was found to have been stolen from a Stafford County home, according to police.
