Police Identify Second Car of Alleged Attempted Murder Suspect

Laurence Alan Stewart II is being sought for attempted capital murder of local law enforcement officers.

The Virginia State Police issued an alert Thursday morning identifying a second car the suspect Laurence Alan Stewart II may be using.

The car is identified as a 2000 White Nissan Altima sedan with Pennsylvania plates HLM-1923. At a press conference on Wednesday, Stafford County Sheriff Charles Jett said the suspect may be driving a red 2012 Hyundai Accent sedan with Virginia plates WXA-8249.  The suspect might interchange plates on the vehicles.

Stewart is wanted in connection with three bombings in the area on Tuesday.  Law enforcement officials determined Stewart was allegedly targeting his former girlfriend and two Stafford law enforcement officers who had previously been involved in arrests of Stewart for indecent exposure, domestic violence — against the same girlfriend he allegedly targeted with a homemade pipe bomb — violating a preliminary protection order and failing to appear in court, according to Jett.
