Police: K-9 Helps Locate Gas Station Burglary Suspect

Trail left at the scene leads to hotel, according to Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.

K-9s with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office helped locate a suspect in a gas station burglary early Tuesday morning.

Andre Liggans, 27 of Spotsylvania, is charged with Felony Breaking and Entering,
Possession of Burglary tools and Larceny.

Deputies responded to the Gulf Station at 5318 Jefferson Davis Highway regarding a burglary alarm. A back door was open and items had been taken from the store, according to a Sheriff's Office release.

"A law enforcement K-9 team was called to the location and a track ensued," according to the release. "The trail led to a nearby hotel, where a potential suspect was developed by additional investigation."

A search of Liggans' room led to evidence of the break-in, according to authorities. He was transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
