Police: Man Dies in Thursday Wreck

Fredericksburg victim was driving on North Kings Highway when his vehicle left the road, according to Fairfax County Police.

A Fredericksburg man died in a wreck Thursday on North Kings Highway, according to the Fairfax County Police.

John David Buxton, 59, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Buxton was in his 2004 Chevy Suburban traveling westbound near Kathryn Street at around 7 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle struck a curb and then reportedly travelled up an embankment and struck a tree.

County Police note the Suburban rolled over and Buxton was ejected.

Crash reconstruction unit detectives are investigating the crash and are investigating whether or not speed and/or alcohol may be contributing factors in the crash, according to Fairfax County Police.
