Police: Man Stabbed Multiple Times After Opening Motel Room Door

Two unknown suspects responsible, according to Fredericksburg Police Department.

A man is being treated at an area hospital after a stabbing Sunday night, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

Officers responded at 9:40 p.m. to the Relax Inn at 1904 Princess Anne St. regarding a fight and discovered the victim, 28, in one of the guest rooms.

He'd been stabbed multiple times in the back and had a head injury, but was conscious, according to police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe.

"The victim’s girlfriend reported that they were both inside a room when her boyfriend heard a noise from outside and opened the door," Bledsoe said. "When he opened the door, the victim was immediately assaulted by a black male who had dreadlocks and was wearing a black hoodie."

A second man was reportedly standing nearby watching. The victim got back inside the room and the suspects fled before police arrived, according to Bledsoe.
