Police: Purse Snatching in Downtown Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg Police Incidents, April 25, 2014.

Two unknown men snatched a purse off the arm of a 60-year-old Staffford woman just after midnight Thursday morning, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

The woman reported that she was walking on the sidewalk in the 600 block of Caroline Street when two men passed her on foot. One of them grabbed the purse from her shoulder and they ran down Wolfe Street and turned onto Princess Anne Street. 

One of the suspects was described as a black male in his 20s, wearing a red jacket.

ATTEMPTED BREAKING AND ENTERING: 

1000 block Myrick St, 4/18 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person attempted to enter his home and left damage to the door and door jamb. The investigation is ongoing. 

LARCENY: 

1100 block White St, 4/22 – 4/23 7:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her driver’s license and other items of value. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 

800 block Cobblestone Blvd, 4/22 – 4/23 8:15 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and stole prescription medication. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 

HH Gregg, 1731 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 4/22 6:15 p.m. An employee reported that an unknown person stole a laptop computer from the display area. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 

Mary Washington Hospital, 1001 Sam Perry Blvd, 4/24 9:00 a.m. A Spotsylvania resident reported that an unknown person stole a license plate from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 

500 block Jefferson Davis Hwy, 4/23 2:00 p.m. A contractor reported that an unknown person stole a weed eater from his trailer while he was inside a store at the shopping center. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
