Police Release Pic of At Large Sheetz Robber

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a third robber, still at large, from a violent robbery of Sheetz in late August.

The Fredericksburg Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a third suspect still at-large for a violent armed robbery which occurred on Aug. 27 at the Sheetz in Central Park. Police have released a photograph of the suspect taken by a surveillance camera at a nearby business prior to the armed robbery.

At around 5:50 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, the same day that Hurrican Irene was bringing wind and rain to the region, three masked suspects barged into the gas station brandishing weapons. The trio ordered the two employees and a customer, all women, inside the store to lay on the floor. During the robbery, the suspects discharged pepper spray at the women in the store and stole cash from the register and the victims' purses. The suspects also trashed the office and stole cigarettes from the store.

As they fled from the scene, one of the suspects forced another woman in the parking lot to give up her car. The suspect then stole the car and drove away. The other two suspects fled on foot in the direction of Riverside Manor. The stolen car was located at Riverside Manor shortly after the robbery.
