Police Respond to Mayfield Shooting

Bullets fly during early morning altercation.

FREDERICKSBURG POLICE INCIDENTS TUESDAY, MAY 3, 2011

SHOOTING INCIDENT:

300 block McKinney St, May 3 3:15 a.m. A resident reported that she and two passengers were traveling from one home to another in Mayfield when a vehicle drove up behind hers and was following very closely as she made several turns in the subdivision. On McKinney St, the victim heard two or three gunshots and heard the rounds striking her vehicle while she and her passengers ducked down in their seats. The victim then drove quickly to the 7-11 on Dixon St and called police. The victim’s vehicle showed evidence of having been struck by gunfire and officers located shell casings in the roadway on McKinney St. The suspect vehicle was described as a pastel green Dodge Intrepid with an unknown number of occupants. The victims were not able to describe the suspect or suspects inside the Dodge and could offer no explanation for the occurrence. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY:

B&G Seafood, 1017 Sophia St, May 1 9:30 p.m. – May 2 9:30 a.m. The owner reported that he found the rear door to the business open and an interior office door damaged. It was also discovered that a firearm and a cash box were stolen from the business. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

100 block Wellington Lakes Dr, May 2 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A resident reported that a game system was stolen from her apartment. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

V ANDALISM:

800 block Caroline St, April 24 – May 2 4:00 p.m. A resident reported that new graffiti was found spray painted on the back of several businesses in Jail Alley. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

DUI ARRESTS:

Major Williams, 62, of Stafford was arrested in the 400 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy.

ARRESTS:

Darlene Baker, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for filing a false police report.

Jeffrey Costello, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from Sheetz.

William Page, 42, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.Alex

Hernandez-Cerritos, 39, of Hyattsville, Maryland was arrested for diverting the city water supply by tampering with a fire hydrant.

Alex Hernandez-de-paz, 20, of Silver Spring, Maryland was arrested for diverting the city water supply by tampering with a fire hydrant.
