Police Search for Bank Robber in Central Park

Fredericksburg police are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery which occured at in Fredericksburg.

Police are currently searching for the suspect, described as a white male, thin build in his 30's with no facial hair. Police do not know if the suspect is armed, nor do they know what type of vehicle, if any, he may be driving.

Police are searching Central Park and the Greengate subdivision. The search area straddles the Spotsylvania-Fredericksburg border. Law enforcement officers from the Fredericksburg Police Department, the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office, the Virginia State Police and the FBI are participating in the search.

The robbery was reported at 10 a.m. exactly, according to Natatia Bledsoe, public information officer with the Fredericksburg Police Department. She says that a city police officer arrived on the scene within a minute of the call being received.

"All available Federicksburg police units are responding to this," said Bledsoe in an interview.
