Police: U.S. Flag Stolen, Burned in Fredericksburg

No suspect or witnesses to incident, according to Fredericksburg Police.

Someone stole and burned a U.S. flag in downtown Fredericksburg, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

At 9 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to Wegner Metal Arts at 520 Wolfe Street regarding the theft. Employees told police that the flag was stolen from the side of the building.

Some time later, employees at the Roxbury Mills contacted police to say they had found the burned flag on the ground behind their business on Jackson Street.

Police say there are no suspects or witnesses at this time. 

Other incidents reported by the Fredericksburg Police Department on Friday:

Pat Grimes, 2303 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 5/15 1:00 a.m. – 8:50 a.m. A manager reported that an unknown person stole the catalytic converter from a company-owned vehicle parked on the lot. The investigation is ongoing. 

100 block Springwood Dr, 5/13 – 5/15 2:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole her wallet from her purse inside her home. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
