Police: Wife Ran Over Husband, Charged With Attempted Homicide

State trooper arrived to find woman standing over her husband, kicking him, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

A woman is accused of running over her husband Sunday night, allegedly in an attempt to kill him, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

Quaneisha Domonique Torres, 21, of Fredericksburg, is charged with attempted first degree homicide.

At 10:30 p.m. Sunday, a Virginia State Trooper stopped in the 500 block of Dixon Street when he observed a woman standing over a man, kicking him repeatedly, according to Fredericksburg Police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe.

"Witnesses who were traveling in a vehicle on Dixon Street reported that they saw a van traveling the wrong way on Dixon Street and crashing into the guard rail," Bledsoe said in a statement. "The witnesses then saw a male crawl out from under the van."

Torres, the alleged driver of the van, got out and began assaulting the victim on the ground before the State Trooper arrived, according to police.

The victim was identified as Torres' husband, a 31-year-old city resident. He was transported to Mary Washington Hospital by ambulance with multiple injuries.

According to Bledsoe, the investigation determined that the victim was walking beside the roadway when he was struck and run over by Torres, who was following him in the van.

Torres was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
