Purse Snatched Outside Fredericksburg Target

A woman's purse was stolen as she was putting purchases into her car, according to Fredericksburg Police.

A woman's purse was snatched from her shopping cart outside Target at about 6:50 p.m. Sunday as she was loading her purchases into the trunk of her car, Natatia Bledsoe, City of Fredericksburg Police spokesperson, said.

The 59-year-old Spotsylvania resident said a male subject grabbed her
purse from the shopping cart. The victim chased the subject across the parking lot until he jumped into the back seat of a silver car and fled the scene, Bledsoe said.

An officer patrolling in the area observed a silver vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and without its headlights on. The officer stopped the vehicle on Central Park Boulevard, and located the victim’s purse behind the driver’s seat.
