Rappahannock Expected to Crest Early Friday
The National Weather Service expects a 1 a.m. crest in Fredericksburg Friday.
Update 4 p.m. Thursday
The National Weather Service (NWS) has decreased the river crest to 13.4 feet, and revised the expected crest time to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued river rise predictions for the Rappahannock River at City Dock, with Fredericksburg's crest level expected 1 a.m. Friday at 15.8 feet, Lieutenant Victor Podbielski of the Fredericksburg Fire Department said.
At 1 p.m. Thursday the river was at 10 feet, according to the markers at City Dock.

The NWS is predicting these levels at these times:
- 7 p.m. Thursday, 13.4 feet
- 1 a.m. Friday, crest at 15.8 feet
- 7 a.m. Friday, 11.7 feet
Flood stage at City Dock is 18 feet. The City Dock area was closed at 1 p.m. Thursday, due to high water.
The NWS is also predicting a 60 percent chance of snow for the area, beginning after midnight. Accumulation of less than a half inch is possible, the NWS said.
The overnight low is expected at about 29 degrees. Friday's high is expected to be 33.
