Resident Chases Away Car Thief

Car owner looks outside, sees Nissan moved with man sitting inside, then gives chase. Read more details in today's City Blotter.

BURGLARY:

1200 block Townsend Blvd, Sept. 17 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. A resident reported that she found prescription medication and jewelry had been stolen from her bedroom. There was no forced entry to the apartment. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

100 block St. Paul St, Sept. 16 3:45 a.m. A resident reported that she heard a vehicle running and looked outside to see a male subject sitting inside her Nissan, which had been moved. The victim yelled toward the suspect, and he got out of the car and ran from the scene carrying a black bag. The suspect was described as a tall and thin black male in his early 20’s wearing a black ball cap. The investigation is ongoing.

3000 block Normandy Ave, Sept. 14 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. A resident reported that her cell phone was stolen from her kitchen counter. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave, Sept. 14 12:40 p.m. A student reported that her cell phone was stolen from her purse. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Quality Inn, 2301 Plank Rd, Sept. 16 5:00 p.m. A Spotsylvania resident reported that he agreed to meet an acquaintance in the parking lot in order to purchase a car stereo system. The victim had cash in his hand to complete the purchase when the suspect grabbed the cash from him and left the scene without turning over the property. The suspect fled in a blue Pontiac with Virginia license plates. The investigation is ongoing.

900 block Sylvania Ave, Sept. 16 6:00 p.m. – Sept. 17 8:00 a.m. A resident reported that her laptop computer was stolen from her unsecured vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

WaWa, 1140 Carl D Silver Pkwy, Sept. 17 10:30 a.m. An employee reported that a male subject stole two sandwiches from the deli. The investigation is ongoing.

1200 block Townsend Blvd, Sept. 17 1:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. A resident reported that his driver’s side door lock was punched out and a DVD player and stereo speakers were stolen from inside the car. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, Sept. 16 6:45 p.m. – 7:10 p.m. A patron reported that two laptop computers were stolen from his unsecured vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:

1000 block Wicklow Dr, Sept. 15 11:00 p.m. – Sept. 16 10:00 a.m. A resident reported that his vehicle was damaged, apparently by BB shot. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Way Back When, 918 Caroline St, Sept. 17 7:30 p.m. – Sept. 18 9:30 a.m. An employee reported that the front door glass was broken. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

DUI ARRESTS:

Steven Mayhew, 22, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 1100 block of Central Park Blvd.

Curtis Staten, 54, of Fredericksburg was arrested in the 300 block of Princess Anne St.

Robert Jackson, 24, of Louisa was arrested in the 1100 block of Lafayette Blvd.

Benjamin Paniello, 38, of Locust Grove was arrested in the 2000 block of Carl D Silver Pkwy.

ARRESTS:

Caroline Tallman, 45, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging her with violating a protective order.

Rhamele Williams, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from Target.

Michael Fauntleroy, 43, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and shoplifting from the ABC store.

Roland Pincus, 71, of Chevy Chase, Maryland was arrested for possession of a prescription narcotic and felony shoplifting from Wegmans.

Carl Scott, 46, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.

Donald Webb, 53, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.

Ralph Tuncalp, 42, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.

Prudenci Bautista, 37, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Christine Gemsheim, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of a schedule II narcotic and shoplifting from Wegmans.

Stacy Belcher, 29, of Stafford was arrested for possession of cocaine.

David Clark, 31, of Triangle was arrested for fraud.

Jonathan Houchens, 22, of Round Hill was arrested for public intoxication.

Christine Austin, 37, of King George was arrested for felony shoplifting from Kohls, conspiracy to commit shoplifting, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Mellissa Tew, 19, of King George was arrested for felony shoplifting from Kohls, conspiracy to commit shoplifting, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Joseph Tolson, 24, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of a schedule I,II narcotic, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Matthew Ryals, 22, of Charlottesville was arrested for public intoxication.

Daniel Vance, 29, of Alexandria was arrested for public intoxication.

Sean Noone, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Jack Fisher, 43, of Stafford was arrested for public intoxication.

William Gendron, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Juvenile male, 16, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.

Vincent Cook, 27, of Stafford was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
