Resident Finds Intruder Asleep In Apartment

Fredericksburg police incidents reported Jan. 7, 2013.

The City of Fredericksburg Police Department provided the following information. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

BURGLARY:
100 block Wellington Lakes Dr., 1/3 – 1/6 2:20 p.m. A resident reported that he returned to the apartment and found a male subject sleeping inside. The unknown subject fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim also discovered that loose change and a quantity of CDs had been stolen. There was no sign of forced entry to the residence. The suspect was described as a clean shaven black male in his 20s wearing jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:
900 block Cornell St., 1/3 – 1/04 7:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person rummaged through her two unlocked vehicles and stole a laptop computer from one of them. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

800 block Sylvania Ave, 1/3 – 1/04 7:50 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole her purse from her unlocked vehicle. The purse was later found inside a storm drain in the 1000 block of Littlepage Street, but cash was missing. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

900 block Cornell St, 1/04 12:05 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person rummaged through his two unlocked vehicles and stole an iPod from one of them. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Marstel Day, 2217 Princess Anne St, 12/27 – 1/02 8:00 a.m. A manager reported that an unknown person entered the unlocked office and stole a computer and other electronic equipment. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 1/04 4:40 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. An employee reported that two individuals in a white box truck stole a pallet of compacted cardboard from the back of the store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave, 1/04 12:30 p.m. A student reported that her cell phone was stolen from her backpack in the lunch room. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Sprint Store, 1750 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 1/04 7:30 p.m. An employee reported that a male subject stole an iPhone from a display area and ran from the store when the alarm activated. The investigation is ongoing.

Walker Grant Middle School, 1 Learning Ln, 1/04 2:00 p.m. A student reported that her iPod was stolen from her backpack in class. The investigation is ongoing.

1100 block Prince Edward St, 1/3 – 1/5 11:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole loose change and other small items from both of his unlocked vehicles. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Smokey Bones, 1801 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 1/5 2:00 p.m. A patron reported that his wallet was stolen from his jacket. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

800 block Cornell St, 1/3 – 1/04 6:30 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person rummaged through his unlocked vehicle and stole a camera. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:
HH Gregg, 1731 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 1/5 7:00 p.m. A manager reported that a male subject cut the security cable securing an iPhone to a display board. The phone was not stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

DUI ARRESTS:
Scott Rollins, 21, of King George was arrested for DUI in the 1900 block of Plank Road.

Joeralyn White, 34, of Stafford was arrested for DUI and child endangerment in the 400 block of Hanson Avenue.

Santos Rodas, 53, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 100 block of Longstreet Avenue.

ARRESTS:

  • Allen Scott, 56, of no fixed address was arrested for trespassing.
  • Wayne Payne, 50, of no fixed address was arrested for trespassing.
  • Brian Garner, 29, of Stafford was arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • David Ruffner, 37, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication.
  • Jonathan Jurgins, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for hit and run.
  • Heather Warren, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • Jessica Marcev, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • Richard Harper, 30, of no fixed address was arrested for aggressive solicitation.
  • Teresa Jordan, 51, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and trespassing.
