Roommates Held At Gunpoint In Robbery

Three men robbed a home on Pitt Street and held the roommates at gunpoint. Police need help solving the crime.

Fredericksburg detectives are asking for help solving a home invasion robbery that happened Monday night at about 10:20 on Pitt Street in downtown.

Natatia Bledsoe, police spokeswoman, said the 22-year-old resident told police that he was awakened by the noise of someone pounding on his bedroom door. When he opened his door, a masked man pointed a shotgun at his head and demanded that he hand over property that he wanted from the resident. At the same time, two other males entered a second bedroom, waking up a 20-year-old roommate. They brought the 20-year-old into the same room where the 22-year-old man was and had them sit on the bed. A third victim, a 21-year-old friend who was sleeping on the couch, was also brought into the room. All three were then held at gunpoint, Bledsoe said.

The apartment was ransacked, and the suspects took cell phones and other personal items before they left the house.
