Sheriff's Office Arrests Man for String of Business Robberies

Suspect rammed an unmarked cruiser in his attempt to flee, but was apprehended. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Spotsylvania County Detectives have made an arrest in the string of small business robberies that have occurred in recent days both in and around the Spotsylvania area, Capt. Jeff Pearce announced.

Detectives arrested Jason Robert Hill, 34, outside the Hardees restaurant at Four Mile Fork at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Hill was apprehended as he walked from the restaurant to his vehicle, which was spotted by Detective Lt. Skebo, who was in the area, Pearce said.  "As the suspect attempted to elude capture, he rammed Lt. Skebo’ s unmarked cruiser.  He was taken into custody without further incident," Pearce said.  Lt. Skebo was not injured in the confrontation.

Hill was charged with one count of robbery, with additional charges pending in Spotsylvania and possibly Fredericksburg.  "Hill is suspected of committing three robberies in Spotsylvania, wherein he entered the commercial business, demanded money and left after allegedly threatening the clerks with a firearm," Pearce said.  The suspect vehicle in which Hill was arrested was seen leaving at least two of the robbery locations.
