Sheriff's Office Makes Heroin, Prostitution Arrests

The arrests resulted from an investigation of ads on a popular website, said law enforcement officials.

Undercover detectives from the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office Special Investigation Unit arrested three people on Oct. 17, after an investigation into an alleged heroin and prostitution ring.

"Undercover detectives found numerous ads advertising prostitutes placed on a popular website," said Cpt. Mike Harvey of the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.  After making contact with the man working as the 'pimp,' a deal was worked out for him to bring two prostitutes and some heroin to a hotel located in Spotsylvania County," said Harvey.

Upon arrival, all three suspects were taken into custody without incident.  Both females admitted to being prostitutes, and said the man with them was their “pimp,” Harvey said in a release.
