Spotsy Man Attacked With Electric Sander

Deputies arrest suspect in work-place assault a short time later.

A Spotsylvania man is behind bars after police say he attacked a co-worker with an electric sander. 

Spotsylvania County Sheriff Deputy Morgan Davies responded to the Maaco store in the 4600 block of Lassen Lane around 1:25 p.m. on July 23. There, Davies found the victim sufering from a 3 inch long, half inch wide gash under his left eye. The victim told police that co-worker Jonathan Hudgens had hit him with an electric sander in the face. According to police, multiple witnesses backed up the victim's account. At the time, the victim is thought to have run from the store, and a short while later Hudgens was arrested. 

Hudgens, 24, was charges with malicious wounding and was taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. The victim was hospitalized, requiring x-rays and other treatment.
