Spotsy Woman Dies After Manassas Wreck

Police say victim suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.

A sudden medical attack while driving is being blamed for the death of a Spotsylvania County woman after she struck a parked tractor trailer.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. on September 24 in the area of Balls Ford Road and Notes Drive in Manassas. Prince William County Poice say that the victim, 61 year old Sharon Renee Pittman, was driving her 2004 Nissan Sentra eastbound on Balls Ford Road when she suddenly veered off the roadway and struck a parked 2012 International Prostar tractor trailer from behind.

"The driver of the Nissan Sentra appeared to have suffered from a medical emergency prior to the crash," reads a Prince William County police report.
