Spotsylvania County Man Charged with Phone Threats

Police said the accused is a former employee of the Prince William County School system.

Prince William County police charged a Spotsylvania man with phone threats after he allegedly called the office of a Prince William County School official.

Police investigated the alleged threat at the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center building at 14715 Bristow Rd. in Manassas.

"The investigation revealed that that the accused had called the office of the school official and made the threats to a secretary," said Prince William County police public information officer Jonathan Perok in a release.

Christopher Edward Carpenter, 45, of Hickory Ridge Road in Spotsylvania, turned himself into police on Aug. 3 without incident after police obtained a warrant for his arrest on Aug. 2. Perok said Carpenter is a former employee of the school system. 

Carpenter's court date is currently unavailable, he is held on a $5,000 secured bond, Perok said.
