Man Charged With Malicious Wounding in Stabbing Incident
Alcohol played a factor in the stabbing, authorities said.
Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office have charged an area man with malicious wounding following a stabbing in the 14800 block of Antler Road on Monday.
Rescue units found a 47-year-old woman with an injury to the upper right side of her chest, bleeding profusely, according to a Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office release.
Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said that units on scene immediately began first aid to control the bleeding.

"After speaking with the victim, she advised that her husband stabbed her after they had gotten into a verbal altercation that turned physical," said a release from the office. "She was flown out to Mary Washington Hospital for a collapsed lung."
Detective Leonard Short responded to the scene and collected evidence.

"Detective Short was able to determine that they had been arguing for several days and that alcohol played a factor in this incident," said the office in a release.
The victim's husband was located outside at the end of the driveway and was immediately taken into custody.
