Stafford Sheriff's Office Receives National Award

Stafford Sheriff's deputies accepted the award at the recent IACP International Conference.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office placed third in its category in the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) 2012 Law Enforcement Challenge.  Deputy Jason Forman, Deputy Mike Powell, Captain John McAlister and 1st Sgt. Lee Peters accepted the award at the recent IACP International Conference.

The Stafford Sheriff's Office earned first place in Virginia's 2013 Law Enforcement Challenge among agencies with 126-300 sworn deputies. 

The Law Enforcement Challenge awards law enforcement agencies for excellence in overall traffic safety enforcement, community education and low traffic fatality and accident rates. 

“Traffic safety has always been a priority of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office," Sheriff Charles Jett said in a press release.  “I appreciate the extra efforts the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office perform on a daily basis to help ensure that the roads in Stafford County are safe.”
