Stafford Sheriff's Office Seeks Man Stealing Wallets from Church Offices

Area churches are asked to notify law enforcement if the see the man pictured in the flier.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two incidents of the same man entering two different churches and walking out with a wallet he took from an office at each church.

One theft occurred on Jan. 9 at Mount Ararat Baptist Church, 1112 Garrisonville Rd. in Stafford County.  The second occurred on Jan. 12 at Rock Hill Baptist  Church, 12 Van Horn Lane in Stafford.

The suspect is described as a white male, age 28 - 35, approximately 5'6" - 5'8", with short brown hair and a full beard with side burns.  He was seen wearing a dark jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, sneakers and a baseball hat.

The attached flyer includes a photo of the suspect.   "If you see this individual in your church or on church grounds, call 540-658-4400 and a deputy will respond," said Bill Kennedy, Sheriff's Office public information officer.
