String of Armed Robberies Continues

At least six recent stickups remain unsolved in Spotsylvania.

A Spotsylvania convenience store on Salem Church Road is proving popular with robbers lately. For the second time in a month, a Fas Mart store located there has been the scene of an armed robbery. 

Police say that on May 30, around 11 p.m., a light skinned black male, 5'7" tall with a medium build and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a silver skull mask ran into the store, brandished a gun and demanded money. 

Police say the clerk complied with the robbers demands and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was last seen running towards Salem Church Road. 

Previously, on May 15, The details of the case are similar: around 11 p.m., police say a hispanic man entered the store wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a blue bandana concealing his face, brandished a semi-automatic handgun and ordered the clerk to hand over money from the cash register. That suspect was last seen running towards the nearby Salem Run Apartment Complex.

Since April 29, Fredericksburg Patch has reported on six unsolved armed robberies of businesses in Spotsylvania County. A map plotting the locations of those robberies can be seen here. Each point contains an information bubble which links to the story written about it. 

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects in either of the incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 540-582-7115, or send a tip in a text message by texting SEE911 to CRIMES (274637) or Crim Solvers at 540-582-5822.
