Three Assaulted Outside Plank Road Wawa

Fredericksburg police incidents reported through Jan. 15.

The City of Fredericksburg Police Department provided the following information. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

ASSAULT:
Wawa, 2390 Plank Rd, 1:15 a.m. Tuesday: Three Spotsylvania residents, ages 18-21, reported they were walking out of the Wawa when they were assaulted by a group made up of approximately five males and three females.

The three victims were all forced to the ground and punched and kicked until the assailants broke up and left in various vehicles. One of the victims had his cell phone and Raiders ball cap stolen during the fight. The victims were able to provide descriptions of three of the suspects:

  • one white male in his early 20s with a shaved head and wearing a white T-shirt and jeans;
  • one white male in his early 20s, over 6 feet tall with black curly hair and a goatee;
  • and a white female in her early 20s with long curly brown hair and wearing a Rastafarian style hat.

The three victims had injuries consistent with the described assault, but all three denied the need for a rescue squad. The victims and assailants were reportedly first involved in an altercation at the nearby Aladin Restaurant before the fight erupted at Wawa. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:
Sammy T’s, 801 Caroline St, Between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Friday A patron reported that her coat was stolen from a bar stool inside the restaurant. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1900 block Princess Anne St, Between Jan. 6 and 11 a.m. Monday: A property owner reported that a large metal window frame was stolen from outside the building. The investigation is ongoing.

VEHICLE TAMPERING:
800 block Marye St, Between Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday: A resident reported that an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through her belongings. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:
Danny Lindquist, 48, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery, strangulation, violation of a protective order, and committing assault while under a protective order.

Dwayne Nicholson, 32, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery and malicious wounding, and on outstanding warrants charging him with domestic assault and battery and strangulation.
