Two Armed Robberies Reported in Fredericksburg

In one case, a Virginia State Police bloodhound was called in to assist.

City of Fredericksburg police are investigating an armed robbery in the 2200 block of Caroline Street that happened at 11 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a release from the police department, a 26-year-old Stafford resident said "that he had just gotten a meal from Hardee’s on Princess Anne Street and was parked in a lot on Caroline Street eating his food when two male subjects approached his vehicle and demanded money."

Police said both suspects were reportedly armed with handguns and threatened to shoot the victim. The victim handed a quantity of cash to one suspect through the open driver’s side window of the car and then both suspects ran from the scene into the nearby wooded area, said a release.

"The suspects were described as white males wearing black hoodies and they had masks covering most of their faces," said a release. "The investigation is ongoing."

A Brocks employee reported that he was outside his vehicle in the back parking lot when a male subject approached him from behind and assaulted him by grabbing his head and striking it repeatedly against the side of the car, said police.

"During the assault, the suspect yelled at the victim to give up his wallet," said a release. "The victim fought back, and during the ensuing struggle he was cut by a knife that the suspect had in his hand.
