Brothers Attacked Outside Bar

Two brothers who were walking women back to their vehicles at Hard Times Cafe were attacked by a group of three men, one of whom had brass knuckles.

Two brothers were attacked outside of Hard Times Café Sunday morning and sustained wounds to their faces.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office reported that the two victims, a 28-year-old and a 36-year-old, were walking two women back to their vehicles parked at the 5099 Jefferson Davis Highway restaurant/bar when they were attacked from behind by a group of three men. One of the suspects had a pair of brass knuckles. One victim suffered a broken nose, broken finger, damage to his eye socket and several stitches above his left eye.  The second victim suffered a swollen jaw and broken tooth.

Deputies approached a vehicle that matched a description given by witnesses and and found one of the suspects. The two other men were found in a second vehicle that remained in the shopping center's parking lot. Deputies said the two men were pretending to be sleeping. When all three men were interviewed, the sheriff's office said they got different stories from each suspect.

The following were charged:

Justin Michael Gibson was charged with assault by mob, malicious wounding, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of marijuana. Police said Gibson used the brass knuckles.

David Vincent Rowland was charged with assault by mob, malicious wounding and possession of marijuana.

Michael David Sutphin was charged with assault by mob and malicious wounding.

 

Pizza Deliveryman Robbed

A Papa John's pizza deliveryman reported to the sheriff's office that at about 12:45 a.m. Feb. 4 he was robbed at Brittany Commons Apartment complex off of Courthouse Road. The deliveryman said two black men demanded his money. One of the suspects displayed a knife. The deliveryman gave the suspects cash and then they ran away. Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office detectives are currently following up on leads in this case. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at 540.582.7115.

 

Vandalism Stumps Sheriff's Office

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to help find a serial vandal. From Feb. 2 to Feb. 4 someone or a group of people has vandalized 21 vehicles by shooting out windows with a BB gun. The vandalism occurred in multiple subdivisions including Sheraton Hills, Plantation Forest, Stoney Brook, Millgarden, Oak Grove, Maple Grove, Holly Brook, Fox Point and Heather Stone.
