Victims Bound During Home Invasion, Robbery

The City of Fredericksburg Police Department provided this information. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

ROBBERY:
100 block Farrell Ln, 5/14 3:00 a.m. Police responded to a home invasion robbery where the three adult residents, a mother and son and a male roommate, reported they were tied up and threatened at gunpoint by multiple assailants.

The roommate also told the investigating officers that his vehicle, a 2001 silver Chevrolet Cavalier, had been stolen in Woodbridge around 3 p.m. on May 13, and his cell phone and keys were stolen along with the car.

The victims described how four men wearing masks and armed with guns woke them around 3 a.m. Tuesday and tied their hands. The offenders then ransacked the house and stole various items of value.

As the suspects were leaving a shot was fired, which was heard and reported by neighbors along Longstreet Avenue.

The suspects were described only as black males wearing red clothing and possibly driving a white SUV. The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

LARCENY:
R&R Antiques, 1001 Caroline St, 5/9 – 5/13 10:30 a.m. The owner reported that a briefcase was stolen from the office area and musical instruments were stolen from a vendor’s display inside the store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

100 block Wellington Lakes Dr, 5/11 5:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole the car cover from his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:
VRE Lot G, 300 block Prince Edward St, 5/13 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Officers took reports from five commuters who found windows broken on their vehicles when they returned to the lot. Two of the victims also had loose change stolen from the vehicle consoles. The investigation is ongoing.

400 block Princess Elizabeth St, 5/13 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person flattened three tires on her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:
Ariel Richardson, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
