Fall Hill Ave., Mary Washington Blvd. Public Hearing

Review of the plans for widening and extension of these roads is Oct. 30, 2012.

The City of Fredericksburg and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are planning the widening of Fall Hill Avenue from the Rappahannock Canal west to Carl D. Silver Parkway, and the extension of Mary Washington Boulevard from its current terminus at the rear of the Mary Washington Hospital campus north to Fall Hill Avenue.

A public hearing on this project is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Upper Lafayette Elementary School.  Anyone is invited to attend any portion of the hearing.

The hearing will consist of a short presentation at the top of each hour (same presentation each time), with the remainder of time dedicated to attendees viewing preliminary (30 percent) plans and other documents related to the project, according to the city. The materials will be displayed around the room, and citizens may comment on the plans and/or ask questions of the project engineers, city staff and VDOT representatives.
