City Council to Consider Money for Hugh Mercer Addition

A look at what's on Tuesday's work session and regular session agendas.

At its Tuesday night meeting, Fredericksburg City Council will have its first reading of a resolution to amend the fiscal year 2013 budget by appropriating $6,792,902 in general and school capital, grant and operating fund balances so the Fredericksburg City Public Schools may construct an addition to Hugh Mercer Elementary School.

The council will meet in a work session beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the regular session meeting at 7:30 p.m.

There are three items on the work session agenda, distributed by Clerk of Council Tonya Lacey.  They are:

  • Interviews of Planning Commission Candidates.
  • Presentation of Five-Year Financial Forecast.
  • Presentation and discussion of staff’s analysis of the Business, Professional, Occupational Licenses (BPOL) tax, including potential modifications.

The regular session agenda includes discussion of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), which combines existing zoning and subdivision ordinances into one document.
