Home Energy Assistance Applications Open October 8

Need help with heating bills? Now is the time to apply for financial assistance.

Virginia residents may apply for financial assistance with their energy bills  for the 2013 - 14 heating season through Virginia's Energy Assistance program. 

Eligible consumers should submit an application at their local Department of Social Services office from Oct. 8 through Nov. 8, 2013. A list of offices is online.

“We also encourage customers to consider using our WarmWise energy efficiency program, which offers free energy saving materials and rebates to help reduce energy consumption,” Carl W. Levander, president of Columbia Gas of Virginia, said. 

Columbia Gas of Virginia customers may call the company's Energy Assistance Hotline at 1.800.272.2714 or log on to www.columbiagasva.com for more information.

Dominion Virginia Power offers financial assistance programs, including EnergyShare.  "The program is available for eligible families throughout Dominon's service area, even if they are serviced by another power provider," Bob Fulton of Virginia Dominion Power said.  Call 1-888-667-3000 for more information.
