Senator Edd Houck will address the public in a press conference schedule for later this afternoon, according to a field director working at Houck's Spotsylvania campaign headquarters.

The staffer did not yet know when specifically the press conference would be held, nor did he know what Sen. Houck would say. He did confirm that the press conference would be held at Houck's campaign headquarters on 10813 Courthouse Road in Spotsylvania County.

Calls to Craig Beiber, Houck's campaign director, were not immediately returned.

In a message to followers on Facebook posted earlier today, Houck said that he would address the public once the canvass of the results was completed.

"I know many of you are anxious for the results of Tuesday's election to be final. Please be patient. The accuracy and integrity of an election must be paramount," wrote Houck.

The final tally has Republican challenger Bryce Reeves up 224 votes over Houck, 22,610 to 22,386. Reeves took 50.16-percent of the vote, with Houck taking 49.66-percent.
