Read Across America Day in Fredericksburg

Celebrate Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss' birthday with local events Friday and Saturday.

The National Education Association invites everyone to "Grab Your Hat and Read with the Cat" on March 1, for their 2013 Read Across America Day.

Read Across America Day spotlights the importance of reading and encourages everyone to take time on Dr. Seuss' birthday -- and everyday -- to read with a child.

The project is the largest reading event in the U.S., according to Reading Rockets, a national partner for the celebration.  Their webpage provides free online resources for celebrating Read Across America Day and reading all year.
