Riverfront Park Presentation, Open House Saturday

City wants to hear ideas for new park space.

The City of Fredericksburg will be hosting an open house and presentation on the new Riverfront Park.

Residents will "learn about the status of the design process, brainstorm ideas for the park and provide input on initial Riverfront Park design concepts."

The open house will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Courtyard Marriott, 620 Caroline Street. There will be a presentation on the project at 11 a.m.

The final concept design is expected to be completed this summer.

The city acquired the former Masonic Lodge riverfront property at 609 Sophia Street in 2011, according to the project website. The land "creates new opportunities for a beautiful outdoor amenity and attraction along the banks of the Rappahannock River."
