Road crews were out plowing Northern Virginia streets early Monday, but snow is still falling and motorists are warned to stay off the roads unless necessary.

The Virginia Department of Transportation has road condition cameras and locators for the nearest snow plow (which can include details about the truck and the width of the plow).

Nice APP but it doesn't help anyone in Fairfax City. It does help FX County, however. My road was plowed last during the previous storm and it looks like we are trending for the same with this one. I'll expect the trucks around midnight to 1AM

I live in the Del Ray section of Alexandria. Just as in the last storm, there is NO salt or sand on my road, which is a thru street to Jeff Davis Hiway! I saw one plow go by yesterday with its scooper up. Only the hundreds of cars using it have packed the surface down to a couple of inches of ice! It is not safe to walk across it.
