New Life for the Pink Lady on Caroline Street

The historic home at 201 Caroline St. is under contract, according to the online bidding site Hubzu.

The pink Victorian at 201 Caroline St. in downtown Fredericksburg fell on hard times, but hope is back for this grande dame of real estate.

The home is listed as under contract by the online auction site Hubzu.

Originally built in 1909 for freight agent William H. Rice, the house fell into disrepair.  In November 2013, it was listed as one of the three most expensive foreclosures in Fredericksburg.

If you think you just must have The William H. Rice House, as it is listed with the Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, there's still a chance.  "You may submit a bid which might be considered by the seller in the event that the property becomes available again," Hubzu said.

Otherwise, consider these properties on the market in the Fredericksburg area.
