James Monroe High School ranked among the top in the state and was included in national rankings, according to 2014 list provided by U.S. News & World Report.
The rankings were based on evaluations of data from more than 19,000 schools across the United States. Data included information on state proficiency tests, how well minority students were performing compared to state averages, and the success of the school’s Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. U.S. News teamed up with the D.C.-based American Institutes for Research to analyze the data.
James Monroe High School ranked No. 35 in the state and #1,419 in the nation.
The Thomas Jefferson High School For Science and Technology in Fairfax, ranked No. 4 in the nation.
