James Monroe Wins Division Championship

The Yellow Jackets clinched the game 36 - 0.

James Monroe won the Division 3 Region 1 championship on Saturday, defeating Park View-South Hill 36 - 0.

The Yellow Jackets will face the Kettle Run Cougars of Nokesville at home next Saturday in the state semi-finals.  The time of the game is still to be determined.

Coach Richard Serbay has coached the Yellow Jackets since 1982, and his teams have won four state championships. The last was in 2008.

In 2011, James Monroe was up by two points in the state championship, with less than two minutes to play, when Brookville High School kicked a game-winning field goal.  Brookville's 34-33 win was a heartbreaking loss for the Yellow Jackets.
