James Monroe to Host Back to School Night

Parents and students at James Monroe High School will be able to better acquaint themselves with their teachers and other school staff at a back to school night. The event will be held at JMHS on Sept. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.

College Rep to Visit High School

Students interested in learning more about Lynchburg College are encouraged to attend an information session put on by a college recruiter on Sept. 23 at 9 a.m. Seniors who want to attend will need a pass from the counseling center. 

Lions Club Youth Affiliate Starts Chapter at High School

A newly formed Leo club, a youth branch of the Lions Club which supports volunteerism and character development, will have its first meeting in the James Monroe High School library on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. All students interested in joining the club are encouraged to attend. 

Early Dismissal on Friday

Students at Lafayette Upper Elementary School will be dismissed early at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 for a planned staff development day.

Walker Grant Middle School students will also be let off early that day, with dismissal at 12:20 p.m.

Walker Grant Odyssey of the Mind Gears Up

Walker Grant students interested in participating in Odyssey of the Mind this academic year should attend an interest meeting in room 124 at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
