Snow Closings, Cancellations and Delays Jan. 24

Delays, closings and cancellations affecting Fredericksburg area residents. The list is alphabetical.

The Dorothy Hart Community Center will close at 4:30 p.m. today.

The federal government is open today, but employees have the option to work from home or take unscheduled leave.

Fredericksburg Christian Schools, closed.

Fredericksburg City Public Schools are closed today.  Code red.

All Fredericksburg Parks and Rec programs and activities for today have been cancelled.

All Germanna Community College locations will open at noon on a delayed schedule.

King George County Public Schools are closed.  Twelve month staff, Code 1.

All Spotsylvnia County Public schools and offices are closed. School employees: Code 1 - essential personnel report to perform emergency services as necessary.

Stafford County Schools are closed today. Employees are Code 2. Liberal leave is in effect. Administrative offices will open at 10:00 a.m.

The Fredericksburg and Stafford Campuses of the University of Mary Washington are on a two-hour delay for Thursday, Jan. 24. The Dahlgren Campus is open as scheduled.

Village Montessori of Fredericksburg, closed today.

Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is operating on a full service normal schedule, but advise riders to use caution.  "Our crews are working to clean and/or deice the platforms and parking lots. Please exercise caution while walking through the parking lots and along the platforms.

"Also, when boarding and moving throughout the train, please use the handrails as the steps and walkway may be slippery."
