UMW Equestrians End-of-Semester Trail Ride

Instructor Gegi Winslett led the trail ride at Hazelwild Farm.

Members of the University of Mary Washington Equestrian Team and P.E. riding program participated in an end-of-semester celebratory trail ride at Hazelwild Farm.  Trainer Gegi Winslett, who teaches UMW riding students, led the group.

Hunter seat equitation for UMW physical education credit is taught bi-weekly on four levels at Hazelwild Farm, beginner through advanced. A student does not need to have their own horse to take classes.

In addition, all UMW students are eligible to try out for the varsity intercollegiate equestrian team. Team selections are held at the beginning of each academic semester and students are chosen based on their ability at different levels.
