UMW helps freshman honor slain Newtown neighbors

Former Sandy Hook student Liz Eiseman, a Mary Washington freshman, shares her story with Free Lance-Star.

UMW officials have raised the Connecticut state flag in front of Lee Hall for this week in honor of those lost in the mass shooting at a Newtown elementary school in December.

More than 30 students from Connecticut are currently enrolled at UMW, Dave Pierandri, assistant dean of admissions, told the Free Lance-Star.

One of them, freshman Liz Eiseman, was in her hometown of Newtown for Christmas break. Reporter Pamela Gould interviewed her for this moving story in the Free Lance-Star.
