Our Weekend Planner format has changed slightly.  There is so much going on in the Fredericksburg area, it's difficult to list it all. 

We're highlighting ten events each weekend, and inviting YOU to add your recommendations in the comments section at the end of the article and in the Calendar Listing by filling out this easy form.

Belmont Through a Lens: The Gardens 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. May 3 - 5.

First Friday Art Walk and Gallery Receptions 5 - 9 p.m. Friday, May 3.

  • First Friday at Ladyburg

Sounds of Summer Kick-Off  7 p.m. Friday, May 3, in Market Square with Elby Brass, Fredericksburg’s own street brass band.

First Saturday Market 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Hurkamp Park.

Walk and Festival for Mental Wellness  9 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Hurkamp Park.

Armed Forces Community Covenant Celebration 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Central Park Corporate Center, 1320 Central Park Blvd.

Rappahannock Adult Activities Mayfest 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at 750 Kings Highway, three miles east of the Chatham Bridge.

Great Train Race and Caboose Run 7 a.m. - Noon Sunday, May 5.  Runners line up at the Fredericksburg Train Station for the one-mile Great Train Race and the 400-yard Caboose Run.  The finish line is at City Dock.

You should have listed the Brooke VFD 50th annual Fish Fry. Saturday May 3rd from 3:00-7:00. It should be a great meal.
