Marine Corps Historic Half Registration Open

Plus a 10K and 5K. May 18 races offer "run in the footsteps of presidents and generals."

Registration is now open for the 2014 Marine Corps Historic Half.

The May 18 event includes the 13.1 mile main race, along with the Historic 10K (6.2 miles) and the Semper Fred 5K (3.1 miles). Runners can register at marinemarathon.com

The race route, "invites runners to embark on a distinctive journey from the modern shopping district of Fredericksburg’s Central Park to the city’s historical downtown," according to a release from race organizers at the Marine Corps Marathon.

Registration for the Marine Corps Historic Half is $65 until April 1, then $85. The Historic 10K is $45, and the Semper Fred 5K is $35.

All runners completing each event receive a medal from a U.S. Marine at the finish.
