Lions District 24A Winter Conference

 On Friday, February 24, the Lions of 65 clubs from Arlington to Colonial Beach will gather at the Hospitality House and Conference Center, 2801 Plank Road, in Fredericksburg, VA, for a membership reception and karaoke evening.  The following morning, the Lions will kick off a massive Service Event involving more than 150 members fanning out to 17 community service organizations throughout the city.  Anyone interested in learning more about the world’s largest service organization is welcome to attend any or all of these events.

The membership reception, part of the District 24A Winter Conference, will take place Friday evening from 6 to 7 pm in Shannon’s Grill in the hotel and will be followed by a fun-filled karaoke evening from 7 to 10 pm in the Palm Room.  We encourage any and all to attend and hear about the excellent work that the Lions are doing in the community and to see the whimsical talents of our members in performance.   

The Lions motto is WE SERVE.  On Saturday morning, the Lions will volunteer their services  at venues in the Fredericksburg area such as the Area Food Bank, Salvation Army, SPCA, Head Start, Heartfields Assisted Living, and  Micah’s cold-weather shelter to name a few.   The District 24A Sight and Hearing Van will be giving free eye and hearing screenings at the Stafford Junction Health Fair at the corner of Routes 1 and 17 near the Falmouth Bridge.  We will be leaving from the conference center at 7:45 am.  Join us for a morning of CELEBRATING SERVICE by sharing service.  For more information, contact Lion Jane at 703-283-5106.
